On the occasion of World COPD Day 2025, SDM College of Physiotherapy organised a Free Health Camp at SDM Polyclinic, Hubli, in collaboration with NSS Unit 3, the Department of General Medicine, and the Department of Pulmonology.

The camp was conducted with the primary objective of increasing awareness about Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). The initiative highlighted the importance of early screening, pulmonary rehabilitation, lifestyle modification, and exercise-based management in improving lung health and quality of life.

The event received an encouraging response, with approximately 25 participants between 40 to 75 years of age attending the camp. All participants expressed satisfaction and actively engaged in the various assessments and educational interactions. Many appreciated the opportunity to learn more about their respiratory health and preventive strategies for better living.

Organising Team

The camp was coordinated by Dr. Salima Bijapuri, in collaboration with the Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy Unit Staff Dr.Sangeeta Appannavar, Dr.Shubha Akadas and Dr.Tulasi Kulkarni, along with dedicated Undergraduate and Postgraduate students of the SDM College of Physiotherapy. Their collective efforts ensured a smooth and impactful event aimed at promoting community respiratory health.
