On the occasion of World Physiotherapy Day, SDM College of Physiotherapy Celebrated Physiotherapy week & was coordinated by Dr. Aishwarya Desai & Dr. Tulasi Kulkarni. Following events were organized.
ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION
On the occasion of World Physiotherapy day, SDM College of Physiotherapy had organized essay writing competition on the topic "PHYSIOTHERAPY - THE INDEPENDENT HEALTH CARE SYSTEM" for 8th to 10th standard children of various schools of Hubli-Dharwad. We received a great response from around 10 schools & the winner was awarded during felicitation ceremony on 4th September 2024.
POSTER PRESENTATION COMPETITION ON "A PHYSIOTHERAPY APPROACH USING DIFFERENT TYPES OF THERAPIES & TREATMENTS TO MANAGE THE SYMPTOMS & PROGRESSION OF LOW BACK PAIN", on 3rd September 2024
On the occasion of World Physiotherapy day, SDM College of Physiotherapy organized Poster presentation competition on the topic A PHYSIOTHERAPY APPROACH USING DIFFERENT TYPES OF THERAPIES & TREATMENTS TO MANAGE THE SYMPTOMS & PROGRESSION OF LOW BACK PAIN. There were 45 participants for the competition which included post graduates & under-graduates. Dr. Ajantha, Deputy Registrar of SDM University inaugurated the event. Dr. Sweta Kulkarni had organized the event.
E-POSTER PRESENTATION COMPETITION ON "A PHYSIOTHERAPY APPROACH USING DIFFERENT TYPES OF THERAPIES & TREATMENTS TO MANAGE THE SYMPTOMS & PROGRESSION OF LOW BACK PAIN", on 29th August 2024
On the occasion of World Physiotherapy day, SDM College of Physiotherapy organized E-Poster presentation competition on the topic A PHYSIOTHERAPY APPROACH USING DIFFERENT TYPES OF THERAPIES & TREATMENTS TO MANAGE THE SYMPTOMS & PROGRESSION OF LOW BACK PAIN. There were more than 8 teams for the competition from different Physiotherapy colleges, which included post graduates & under-graduates. Dr. Sweta Kulkarni had organized the event.
BLOOD DONATION CAMP ON 3rd SEPTEMBER, 2024
On the occasion of World Physiotherapy day, SDM College of Physiotherapy organized blood donation camp which was open for all the Hubballi-Dharwad physiotherapy practitioners, in which more than 40 participants donated their blood with a hope that this act by Physiotherapists will be helpful in saving many lives. Dr. Sweta Kulkarni had organized the event.
DEBATE ON 3rd SEPTEMBER, 2024
Debate competition was held on the topic-"GEN-Z vs. MILLENIALS: THE BETTER GENERATION!". There were two teams, including undergraduates & post graduates. The competition was judged by Director Administration Shri Saket Shetty sir; Dr. Naidila Jain, Dr. Santosh Jeevannavar & Dr. Anil R. Dr. Sudhir Bhatbolan had organized the event.
ACADEMIC ACTIVITY ON CARDIAC REHABILITATION ON 4TH SEPTEMBER, 2024
Academic Activity was held on CARDIAC REHABILITATION. Dr. Savita Ravindra, Principal & Dean, M. S. RAMAIAH COLLEGE OF PHYSIOTHERAPY was the resource person for the same. The session focused on the current belief in Cardiac Rehabilitation, on implementing the clinical practice & theoretical knowledge in Cardiac Rehabilitation. There were around 80 active audience who attended the same & were benefited by the immense knowledge of our dignified speaker; it was a successful event under the guidance of Dr Sangeeta Appannavar & Dr. Shubha Akadas.
FELICITATION CEREMONY ON 4TH SEPTEMBER, 2024
The occasion embraced the august presence of our Honourable Vice Chancellor Dr. Niranjan Kumar sir as chief guest, Madam Padmalata Niranjan member Executive Board of Governors, Director Administration Shri Saket Shetty sir, Pro Vice Chancellor Shri. Jeevandhar Kumar, Registrar Dr. C. M. Shetter sir, Shri V. G. Prabhu Finance Officer, Principal SDM college of Physiotherapy Dr.Sanjay Parmar sir. All the dignitaries lighted the lamp invoking the blessings of the Almighty. The Maters of Ceremony for the event were Dr. Aishwarya Desai & Dr. Tulasi Kulkarni. A note of welcome to all the authorities & heads of institution & all other Departments was addressed by Dr. Jyoti Jeevannavar. Following which Felicitation of Physiotherapists Dr. Savita Ravindra & Dr. Ravi Savadatti took place & they were felicitated by the chief guest & the dignitaries. Both the Physiotherapists gave inspirational speech in regard to the occasion. The program followed with prize distribution for various events held during the week & best batch cultural 4 th year BPT & best batch sports 3 rd Year BPT were also given the prizes. Chief guest Dr.Niranjan Kumar addressed the gathering. The event concluded with Vote of thanks by Dr. Sudhir Bhatbolan.
WALKATHON ON 5th SEPTEMBER, 2024
On account of World Physiotherapy Day celebrations 'Walkathon' was organized by SDM College of Physiotherapy on the 5th of September 2024. The event was organized with an aim to spread awareness & promote healthy lifestyle among people. Walkathon was flagged off by Deputy Medical Superintendent-SDM Medical College & Hospital, Dr. Makhdoom Killedar. The event commenced from, Dharwad at 6:45AM & went through SDM Medical College & Hospital (grand stairs) via Udayagiri, Sattur to SDM College of Physiotherapy. Around 300 participants including faculty, non-teaching staff, physiotherapy practitioners of Hubli/Dharwad & students enthusiastically marched with placards & banners raising awareness. Dr. Sanjay Parmar, Principal SDMCPT led the parade actively. Dr. Sudhir Bhatbolan coordinated the event.
FREE CAMP ON ASSESSMENT, TREATMENT & AWARENESS OF LOW BACK PAIN, SDM POLYCLINIC, HUBBALLI ON 5TH SEPTEMBER, 2024
On 5th September, there was a camp held in SDM polyclinic, Hubli which was organized by Dr. Sweta Kulkarni. It was based on assessment, screening, counselling, ergonomic advice & physiotherapy management for low back pain, where Dr. Pranoy Hegde graced as chief guest. Dr. Sanjay Parmar, Principal, SDMCPT & Dr. Aishwarya Desai were also present. Around 25 plus patients had participated in the camp.
FREE CAMP ON ASSESSMENT, TREATMENT & AWARENESS OF LOW BACK PAIN, TATA MOTORS LIMITED, DHARWAD ON 5TH SEPTEMBER, 2024
SDM College of Physiotherapy in association with Department of Orthopaedics SDMCMS&H & Rotary Club Dharwad, Heritage conducted a Free Mega Health Camp, for the employees of Tata Motors industries. It was based on assessment, screening, DEXA scan, orthopedic counselling, General Physician consultation, & physiotherapy assessment & ergonomics adviced, where Dr. C. M. Shettar graced as chief guest & was also Organizing Chairman for the same. Dr. Santosh Jeevannavar was the Organzing Secretary & contributed in a huge success of the camp. Dr. Jyoti Jeevannavar & Dr. Tulasi Kulkarni were also present. There were 125 plus workers from the industry who were benefitted from the camp in all aspects. Dr. Salima Bijapuri coordinated the same & ensured its smooth execution & successful completion.
SYMPOSIUM/CME ON LOW BACK PAIN-A COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH ON 6th SEPTEMBER, 2024
Symposium/CME was held on the topic LOW BACK PAIN-A COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH. There were seven renowned speakers, Dr. Sunil Nadkarni, Dr. Satish M, Dr. Narendra Shah, Dr. Santosh Jeevannavar, DR. Vishwanath Patil, Dr. Tushar Munolli & Dr. Hitesh Rohra. Followed by a panel discussion by Dr. C M Shettar, Dr. Santosh Jeevannavar, Dr. Manjunath Dargad & Dr. Hitesh Rohra. There were around 150+ active audience who attended the symposium online as well as offline & were benefited by the immense knowledge of our dignified speakers; it was a successful event under the guidance of Dr. Salima.
