On the occasion of World Physiotherapy Day, SDM College of Physiotherapy Celebrated Physiotherapy week. Following events were organized.
QUIZ on 4th SEPTEMBER, 2023
On 4th 2023 quiz competition was organised for the Physiotherapy students. Number of groups participated in the competition were eight which comprised of six participants, each. Every team included participant's right from BPT first year to PG final year. MCQ questions were asked in the competition which was based on physiotherapy subjects. Dr. Aishwarya Desai and Dr. Tulasi Kulkarni had organized the event.
FREE CAMP ON ASSESSMENT, TREATMENT AND AWARENESS OF INFLAMMATORY ARTHRITIS SDM POLYCLINIC, HUBBALLI ON 5th SEPTEMBER, 2023
On 5th September, second day of physiotherapy week there was a camp held in SDM polyclinic, Hubli which was organised by Dr. Salima. It was based on assessment, screening, BMD, counselling, availability of assistive and supportive devices, educational pamphlets and physiotherapy management, where Dr. Santosh Jeevannavar graced as chief guest along with Dr. Arvind Patil and Dr. Pramod Chabbi. Around 25 plus patients had participated in the camp.
DEBATE ON 6th SEPTEMBER, 2023
On 6th September, Debate competition was held on the topic- Artificial Intelligence. There were two teams, one speaking for and the other against the topic and each group had six participants including undergraduates and post graduates, where as chief guest Madam Padmalata Niranjan, member Executive Board of Governors graced the event. The competition was judged by Director Administration Shri Saket Shetty sir; Dr. Shrinivas Pai, Dr. Sunil Manuel and Mr. Abhay B. Dr.Rajeev Lal had organized the event.
SYMPOSIUM ON MULTIMODAL APPROACH TOWARDS RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS ON 7th SEPTEMBER, 2023
On 7th September 2023 Symposium was held on the topic multimodal approach towards Rheumatoid arthritis. They were five renowned speakers, Dr. Santosh Jeevannavar, Dr Pramod Chebbi, Dr Arvind Patil, Dr Shweta Kulkarni and Dr Salima Bijapuri. There were around 350 + active audience who attended the symposium online as well as offline and were benefited by the immense knowledge of our dignified speakers; it was a successful event under the guidance of Dr Salima.
WALKATHON ON 8th SEPTEMBER, 2023
On account of World Physiotherapy Day celebrations 'Walkathon' was organised by SDM College of Physiotherapy on the 8th of September 2023. The event was organised with an aim to spread awareness and promote healthy lifestyle among people. Walkathon was flagged off by Medical Superintendent- SDM Medical College & Hospital, Dr Kiran Hegde. The event commenced from Karnataka College, Dharwad at 6.45 AM and went through DC Compound, DBHPS, and Head Post office and concluded at the court circle covering a distance of about 2 kms. Around 300 participants including faculty, non-teaching staff, physiotherapy practitioners of Hubli/Dharwad and students enthusiastically marched with placards and banners raising awareness. Dr Sanjay Parmar, Principal SDMCPT and Vice Principal Dr Rajeev Lal, encouraged and led the parade actively. Dr Sudhir Bhatbolan coordinated the Walkathon and ensured its smooth execution and successful completion.
POSTER PRESENTATION COMPETITION ON PHYSIOTHERAPY MANAGEMENT OF INFLAMMATORY ARTHRITIS ON 8th SEPTEMBER, 2023
On the occasion of World Physiotherapy day, SDM College of Physiotherapy organized Poster presentation competition on the topic Physiotherapy rehabilitation of inflammatory arthritis. There were 66 participants for the competition which included post graduates and under-graduates. Dr C.M Shettar, Registrar of SDM University inaugurated the event. Dr. Sweta Kulkarni had organized the event.
BLOOD DONATION CAMP ON 8th SEPTEMBER, 2023
On the occasion of World Physiotherapy day, SDM College of Physiotherapy organized blood donation camp which was open for all the Hubballi - Dharwad physiotherapy practitioners, in which more than 25 participants donated their blood with a hope that this act by Physiotherapists will be helpful in saving many lives. Dr. Sweta Kulkarni had organized the event.
CVTS INAUGRATION
Until now Cardio-Pulmonary Physiotherapy we were serving all the ICU units within the area of 8 by 10 feet cabin only. But on the occasion of World Physiotherapy day we are happy to inform that our unit is come up with 2 consultations and Cardio-Pulmonary rehabilitation area. With this we look forward to focus our zone of interest towards out patients area as well and we also aim to be the first of its kind to focus on patients and give Exercise Prescription for Hypertension, Diabetes Mellitus, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Vascular Rehabilitation.
CLOSING CEREMONY ON 8th SEPTEMBER,2023
The Physiotherapy week marathon of events ended with a closing ceremony and the occasion embraced the august presence of our Honourable Vice Chancellor Dr.Niranjan Kumar sir as chief guest, Madam Padmalata Niranjan member Executive Board of Governors, Director Administration Shri Saket Shetty sir, Pro Vice Chancellors Dr. S.K.Joshi sir (Academics) and Shri.Jeevandhar Kumar (Admin), Registrar Dr. C.M.Shetter sir, Shri V.G.Prabhu Finance Officer, Principal SDM college of Physiotherapy Dr.Sanjay Parmar sir. All the dignitaries lighted the lamp invoking the blessings of his Almighty. The Maters of Ceremony for the event were Dr. Aishwarya Desai and Dr. Tulasi Kulkarni. A note of welcome to all the authorities and heads of institution and all other Departments was addressed by Dr. Sangeeta Appannavar. Following which Felicitation of Physiotherapists Dr. Geeta Joshi and Dr. Rajeev Lal took place and they were felicitated by the chief guest and the dignitaries. Both the Physiotherapists gave inspirational speech in regard to the occasion. The program followed with Prize distribution for various events held during the week and best batch cultural 4th year BPT and best batch sports 2nd Year BPT were also given the prizes. Chief guest Dr.Niranjan Kumar addressed the gathering with the announcement of ranking of SDMCPT in India and Karnataka which was applauded with full of energy by all the students. The event concluded with Vote of thanks by Dr.Shweta Kulkarni.
