SDM alumni cricket tournament 2023 was organized by SDM medical college, Dharwad on 4th and 5th of November, 2023. This was their 9th edition of organizing a cricket tournament for alumni. SDM College of Physiotherapy participated in this tournament for the first time. There were total 4 teams in the tournament and it was played on 2 different grounds namely medical college ground and dental college ground. The inauguration ceremony took place on medical college ground by Dr. S.K Deshpande sir and Dr. Asha Deshpande madam along with Sharad Javli sir, Physical Director, SDMMS. The name of a physiotherapy college team was SDM PHYSIO LEGENDS .They faced SDM ALL STARS in the 1st match and made 181/5 in 16 overs. In return, SDM ALL STARS made 171/7 and LEGENDS won the game by 10 runs. In the 2nd game, SDM PHYSIO LEGENDS made 168/2 in 16 overs and defeted SDM ALUMNI UNITED by 5 runs. In the qualifier 2, SDM PHYSIO LEGENDS again faced SDM ALL STARS and made 182/3 in just 14 overs. This game was very close and SDM PHYSIO LEGENDS won by 6 runs. In the final SDM PHYSIO LEGENDS made 134/5 in 16 overs and SDM ALUMNI LEGENDS chased the target in 12.1 overs and with 7 wickets in hand to win the tournament for the record 6th time in the history of SDM alumni cricket. Dr. Mayur who is a coporator and SDM alumni was chief guest for closing ceremony of the tournament. Winners trophy was handed to SDM ALUMNI LEGENDS and in their 1st attempt, SDM PHYSIO LEGENDS were runners up in this tournament. Dr.Sourabh from SDM PHYSIO LEGENDS won the award for most emerging player of this tournament for scoring 262 runs in 4 matches. Around 20 physiotherapy alumni came together for this tournament from different parts of the country. Breakfast and lunch arrangements were made by SDMCPT, and residential arrangements were made by SDMMS.
