The Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy Department of SDM College of Physiotherapy, Dharwad successfully conducted a Certificate Course in Manual Therapy from April 1st to May 2nd, 2025. The intensive program spanned 100 hours, comprising 28 hours of theoretical instruction and 72 hours of hands-on practical training, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience for all participants.

The course was enriched by expert insights from a distinguished panel of resource persons:
Dr. Pearlson K, Dr. Rajeev Lal, Dr. Ravi Savadatti, Dr. Sunil K. M, Dr. Sweta Kulkarni

The training saw enthusiastic participation from around 30 students, including MPT postgraduates, interns, and final-year BPT students, who actively engaged in learning hands on and applying various manual therapy techniques.

Key topics covered in the course included:
Maitland Mobilization, Kaltenborn Mobilization, Mulligan Concept, McKenzie Technique, High Velocity Thrust Manipulation and other clinically relevant manual therapy approaches.

Dr. Niranjan Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara University, Dharwad was the chief guest and Smt. Padmalatha Niranjan, Member of BOG was the guest of Honour for the Inauguration of the certificate course. Shri. Saketh Shetty, Director Administration, Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara University, Dharwad and other executives from university, Principals and Vice principals from constituent units were present for the Inauguration and valedictory of the academic activity. Dr Ellisha was the MOC for the Inauguration and Valedictory program.

This certificate course aimed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and clinical expertise, empowering future physiotherapists with advanced manual therapy skills for effective musculoskeletal rehabilitation.
